Integrated Business Systems & Services Provides Enabling Technology For Innovative Wave & Win RFID-Based Exhibition Program
COLUMBIA, SC - (BUSINESS WIRE) - June 21, 2005 - Integrated Business Systems and Services, Inc. (IBSS) (OTCBB:IBSS), creator of the Synapse™ technology framework for RFID applications, and Retail Systems Alert Group, organizers of the annual Retail Systems event, announced the successful launch of an innovative exhibit program, Wave & Win. The Wave & Win program, created by Retail Systems Alert Group and custom-designed by IBSS for the Retail Systems 2005 Event, held May 24-26 in Chicago, demonstrated how RFID, self-service kiosks, wireless technology and loyalty cards can be fully integrated to enhance customer experience and manage customer shopping data. Retail Systems Alert Group and IBSS worked together with Arthur Blank & Co., BMW, Sprint, Microsoft and Infineon Technologies to create and implement the many facets of this program.
"Wave & Win created quite a buzz at the show as attendees utilized these integrated technologies while also having the chance to win great prizes," said Lee Dunston, IBSS Director of Sales. "For IBSS, this program showcased the use of our Synapse™ technology framework as a demonstration of our ability to use RFID in one-to-one marketing, customer incentive programs and special promotions in the retail point of service environment."
"Supporting our theme of 'Creating Value for the Consumer', the Wave & Win program was a fun way of demonstrating possible applications of some of the hottest new customer technologies available to retailers," added Eric Olson, Vice President of Products and Services for Retail Systems Alert Group and Co-Conference Chair for Retail Systems 2005. Olson continued, "The Wave & Win program was able to track scans and showcase the effectiveness of the promotion in real time."
Wave & Win cards were distributed at keynote sessions and at exhibitor booths. Throughout the expo, the Wave & Win program posted approximately 8,617 card reads at the kiosks located at each of the 5 BMW 3-Series pavilions on the exhibit floor. When attendees waved their RFID chip-embedded cards over the kiosk RFID reader, the system captured the card data and instantly informed the cardholder if they had won. Prizes ranged from autographed baseballs, IPODS, PDA's, gift cards to the grand prize, a 2-year lease on a new 3-series BMW. The system also displayed ad content for participating partners on 42" screens mounted above the kiosks to drive traffic to participating partner booths.
IBSS and Retail Alert Group plan to enhance and continue the Wave & Win program at Retail Systems 2006, May 22-24.
