COLUMBIA, SC - (BUSINESSWIRE) - January 4, 2005 - Integrated Business Systems and Services, Inc. (IBSS) (OTCBB:IBSS) today unveiled and announced the immediate availability of its new intelligent tracking application product, SynTrack™. Enabled by IBSS' Synapse(tm) application development and deployment technology, SynTrack(tm) is initially bundled to aid the healthcare industry in reducing costs and improving patient care by intelligently tracking personnel and assets. SynTrack(tm) uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to efficiently manage hospital staff and equipment, and enables healthcare professionals to benefit from improved asset management.
SynTrack™ uses RFID tags to track in real-time the location of assets and personnel at any given time. Healthcare workers can electronically locate any asset and person in the medical facility or on the campus, freeing up time to better care for patients. Types of assets that may be tracked using SynTrack(tm) include infusion pumps, ultrasound equipment, portable cardiac monitors, ventilators, monitoring equipment, wheelchairs, gurneys and diagnostic equipment, and other medical tools and technologies. SynTrack™ was built with the future in mind. Implementation can start with a single initiative, but can aggressively scale to be the distributed wireless and data collection framework for an entire enterprise. The initial release of SynTrack™ includes support for long-range UHF-active RFID tag technology from IDENTEC SOLUTIONS, as well as low frequency directional reader and active tag technology from USM Systems. In addition, the initial release of SynTrack(tm) supports patient RFID wristband technologies that are compatible with 13.56 MHz and ISO 15693-1, 2, and 3, as well as, contactless smart card technologies that adhere to the MIFARE ® standard. MIFARE ® complies with ISO14443 A, which is the most widely used contactless smart card technology available in the market. Additional proven RFID technologies will be certified and incorporated into future releases of SynTrack(tm).
In conjunction with the release of SynTrack™, IBSS also reported that it has been appointed an Authorized System Integrator for the full line of IDENTEC SOLUTIONS' products. IDENTEC SOLUTIONS' technology features their patented " speak-when-spoken-to " RFID tags. These RFID tags have an LED that will " blink on demand " to help pick one item from among many - a feature fully exploited by the SynTrack(tm) product to gain maximum efficiency when managing critical physical assets in a professional healthcare environment.
